Lewandowski Shatters Bundesliga Record with 41 Goals
Historic Landmark for Bayern Munich Star
Robert Lewandowski has etched his name into the Bundesliga history books after scoring 41 goals in a single season, surpassing the previous record of 40 set by Gerd Müller in 1971-72. The Polish forward achieved this incredible feat in the final minute of Bayern Munich's 5-2 victory over Augsburg on Saturday.
Unstoppable Scoring Machine
Lewandowski's goal-scoring prowess has been remarkable throughout the campaign. He has consistently found the back of the net, helping Bayern Munich secure their ninth consecutive Bundesliga title. The 32-year-old has now scored in 27 of his 34 league appearances this season.
In the match against VfL Wolfsburg, Lewandowski missed a penalty in the 89th minute, but he made amends with a powerful strike just seconds later to reach the historic milestone. His goalscoring exploits have also earned him the European Golden Shoe award for the second time in his career.
